According to the latest data from China’s Ministry of transport, from January to the end of November this year, about 14000 China Europe trains were operated and 1.332 million TEUs were transported, an increase of 23% and 30% respectively year-on-year. This is the second time since last year that the number of China EU trains has exceeded 10000 a year.

Last year, due to the epidemic, the traditional sea and air transportation were not smooth, and the China Europe train emerged as a “life channel” of transportation. This year also coincides with the 10th anniversary of the opening of China EU trains. The above data also show that over the past 10 years, China Europe trains have exceeded 40000, with a total value of more than US $200 billion (about 1.2 trillion yuan), opened 73 operation lines and reached more than 160 cities in 22 countries in Europe.
In this regard, Yang Jie, senior coordinator of international affairs of the international train consulting service center of China Transportation Association, told China first finance and economics that in 2021, the operation of China EU trains will continue to be popular in 2020, “Under the background of the continuous impact of the epidemic on the global economy, there is a strong demand for alternative transportation of China EU trains in the international market, which directly leads to the number of trains exceeding 10000 for two consecutive years. At the same time, it also drives the freight rate in the terminal market, which has exceeded the US $15000 mark.”.
According to his understanding, Chongqing, Xi’an, Chengdu and Zhengzhou account for more than 70% of the total number of CDBS in China. In addition, Jiangsu (including Suzhou, Nanjing and Xuzhou), Yiwu (including Jinhua), Changsha, Shandong, Wuhan and Hefei have formed a normal and stable CDB, “China Europe train assembly center continues to play the role of the main force”.
